With growing regulations, extreme price volatility and rising grid issues, they need to be resilient. It is time to take charge and think ahead. We deliver energy management solutions that ensure that businesses are always in control of their energy. We are a fast-growing international team of driven and collaborative talents, from engineers and software developers to creative thinkers and customer-focused business developers. No matter what your strong suit is, we always are looking for people who are determined to make a positive impact: iwell is committed to form a diverse and inclusive team to tackle the challenges of the energy transition.
The Role
As a Solutions Engineer within our Battery Systems team, your expertise will be crucial in developing robust technical solutions for our customers. You will be responsible for the electro-technical design of our products and projects on customer sites. You are the counterpart of the customer's installer or technical experts. You design robust, safe and compliant installations. You understand and respect the limitations of our BESS, PCS, transformers and MV switchgear and make sure they can operate both in grid following as grid forming and off grid solutions. We value your judgment and rely on your knowledge, to advance our mission of a stable grid without relying on fossil fuels. You will be involved in product development, as well as tender and early sales phases, and during the project's execution phases during construction, commissioning and operation. Your knowledge and experience also will be of high value in selecting new products for the iwell product portfolio.
As an electrical solutions engineer at iwell, you will leverage your expertise in electrical engineering to manage the technical aspects of our BESS and EMS solutions. You like a fast-paced environment, where sharing your knowledge and taking initiative make a difference. You are happy to explain technical details to customers, but you don’t need to do sales. You help to ensure that the handover to installation is smooth.
What you will do
Create (electro)-technical project-specific designs, such as isolated terra systems, MV ring changes.
Develop and integrate power conversion systems and ensure safety and compliance, from DC to Medium Voltage AC, ensuring selectivity of circuit breakers, preventing damage in case of short circuit and ensure robustness (i.e. lighting hazards, failure on other components).
Support the integration of hardware components into iwell’s BESS, ensuring compatibility and performance.
Support sales and tender processes to provide effective solutions for our customer, i.e. ensure proper site design, clear drawings and instructions for external parties.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, such as system specifications, processes, and instructions.
You will become the electrotechnical expert within iwell.
What are looking for
Degree in Electrical Engineering (HBO/WO) or equivalent experience.
Experience in electrical design of high power and energy conversion systems.
Knowledge of technical standards and grid operator connection requirements.
Able to make the basic design for a site with energy production and storage, feeding into the Medium Voltage AC grid, including cable system design, PE system design and according to national installation guidelines.
Strong communication skills and attention to quality assurance
Ability to read and produce technical drawings and schematics
Ability to speak and write German is a plus
Note: at iwell, we value growth potential over perfection. Feel free to respond if you can see yourself meeting this list in the (near) future.
What we offer
A competitive salary within the range of EUR 5,400 - 6,100 (plus 8% holiday allowance)
30 holidays per year, plus an annual company trip of 3 days
The opportunity to do volunteer work, by offering 1 volunteer day per year
Learning & Development budget of EUR 1,500 per year
